Friday was gloomy around here, but the rain held off and it was decently warm. We had a surprise visit from Grandma & Grandpa Ruiz from Toledo and so the day turned out to be great!! We even got out to play and get some energy out of my crazy lil girl!
Saturday was another story...it sprinkled and rained on and off throughout the day, but that didn't stop Katy and Grandma Metzger. They played in the rain anyway with their umbrellas.
After Easter mass, we headed to Grandma and Papa's house for lunch and family time. Katy got 2 more Easter baskets and was basically spoiled by everyone!! It was a great afternoon.
She was super excited to get Mary Poppins! I forgot what a great movie it is!!
She got nail polish for Easter and Daddy gave Katy a mani and pedi after lunch.
Easter morning started off with Daddy cooking the girls breakfast...eggs, pancakes (Katy's favorite) and bacon. Then is was time for a bath because as usual Katy got syrup in her hair. Once she got her "twirly" dress on and it was time to hunt for her Easter basket from the Easter bunny.
She decided the best way to get to all of her loot was to dump the entire basket...and it was a mess but effective!
When Todd and I went for my Level 2 ultrasound at Riverside in January, the technician was able to record the baby's heartbeat. The recording came with a gift certificate to Build a Bear, which we thought was the perfect outing for Katy. A few weekends ago we had he chance to go and Katy made a bear for her baby sister, which has the baby's heartbeat inside...it's really cool!
She is approving that the bear is soft and cuddly enough on the stuffing.
Now she is giving the heart of the bear life. The recording of the babies heartbeat is actually in the arm so it's easy to push and listen to. This is the bears actual heart that Katy filled with love. Now its time to give the new baby bear a bath. Katy and I are filling out the birth certificate.
First we started off with a picnic lunch with my Stephanie and her daughter, Emily at Blendon Woods.
We ended that day playing playing at home on our own backyard.
Friday, we ended up at Blendon again and had lunch with Grandma and Grandpa Metzger.
Last we rounded the weekend off at a playground at a local church with a trip to Planet Smoothie for an energizing snack! She loved that because she thought she was as cool as the kids on iCarly at their hangout The Groovy Smoothie.
