Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo

Our next adventure were the Christmas lights at the zoo. We went on a weeknight the week before Christmas and it was a good thing. It wasn't crowded, but it was COLD!! We went with Todd's bestfriend Shad and his girlfriend Kelly.

A visit with Santa Clause - 2008

It's been a crazy Christmas for the Walton's...to say the least we've been visiting so much family that Katy still has yet to open her Christmas gifts from Santa Clause that he left at our house!

Here is the beginning of the season with a visit to Santa Clause at the Worthington Mall (the best kept secret in town!). No lines and he is looks just like he should...very authentic! As you will see, Katy wasn't really into this visit and didn't want anything to do with him. I had to sit on his lap to even get these pictures:)

What a BIG girl!

Last Friday, Katy and I ran some errands around town and I decided we should stop for lunch. We had a great time at Noodles & Co and the during the entire lunch I was reminded how much she has grown, even in the last few weeks. She ate her entire meal on her own, which included drinking her milk from the carton with a straw without Mommy holding it for her (so it doesn't spill). Plus, she used a real fork and fed herself with NO help from me. Although this is a great milestone, it was a bit sad that everyday she seems to need me a little less than the day before and is Miss Independent. On the upside, she is such fun to be around and turning into such a great little girl!

Can't you just read her expression?! "Mommy, stop taking pictures of me!!" I love this picture!!!

Check out our Thanksgiving photos...

Thanksgiving 2008

Katy's new bestfriend!

For Thanksgiving, we spent the night before at my cousin Angie's house. The two of us were doing the cooking for the big Metzger Thanksgiving on Thursday. Angie has a 2 year old daughter, Anna, and they had a ball together...just check out the video!

1st Snow

Last weekend it started to snow, we just arrived at Grandma and Poppa Metzger's house. Katy was very curious about the snow, but wasn't impressed when she sarted to investigate....she said "Ewww Mommy" then proceeded to wipe the snow on my pants then she ran inside. It's going to be a long winter!!

It's Potty Time!

On Tuesday, I decided to introduce Katy to potty training. She was excited to take the potty out of the box and she helped me assemble it. She also makes sure she shows me the froggy sticker that is on front - that scored real points!

Next, we took it into my bathroom and put it next to the bathtub and she immediately started undressing...then she started to get on and off the potty repeatedly. Within in about 15 minutes, she stuck her hand in the potty and took it out and said "EWWW Mommy" and I was beginning to tell her that she should always keep her hands out of the potty when I noticed her hand was wet and then I took a look in the potty and guess what - she peed!!!! So far that is our only success story, but I know this should be a fun and interesting adventure in the coming weeks.

This has also been a bad teething week as well, so her "ni-night" and her fingers have been her bestfriend and she doesn't go far without them - even to the potty!
Ok - I'm sorry I had to include the pic of the potty with the pee in it, and I can't believe how proud I've become, but it's another milestone!!

Halloween 2008

Tyler (aka Batman) and Katy (aka Leopard) went Trick or Treat in our neighborhood in Sunbury. They were a little unsure at first when we were getting them dressed, but once they got to the first house and received candy they were happy to keep going and see what was next.

Grandma Denise Walton made Tabi and I our own personalized pumpkins for display.
