5 months old

Month 5 was a biggie for Miss Ava...she learned to sit up on her own and learned to crawl within a 48 hour period!! She is determined to play with the big kids, mainly her sister, and loves her new found abilities! Although Mommy and Daddy weren't quite ready for these milestones just yet, but we are SO PROUD of her!!

Growing too fast!!!!!!!!

This past week my lil Ava turned 5 months old. Not only did she decide to sit up on her own, but she is now crawling (and all of this ocurred within a 48 hour period)!!! I am SO PROUD of her, but I am also wondering where my little girl went???!!! This is not supposed to happen so fast and it makes me sad:( On the other hand, Katy now has a playmate and they really can interact together on another level which is very cool to watch!!

Just hanging out...

Sooner than I want to admit, I will miss the days of just hanging out with my girls outside. We have made such great memories just playing in the yard and enjoying the weather this summer. Here are a few pics of us enjoying one of the last real nice days this past few weeks.







She was so determined to try and get that lady bug...and I am proud to say she did scoot herself over and that that thing!!

4 months old!

Ava is now 4 months old and here are her stats! She is 12 lbs. 15 oz. and 25 inches long. I don't remember what percentile that puts her because this appointment was very hectic since Miss Katy was there too. All I know is the doc was very happy with her progress and pretty impressed by her strength!! As you can see from our earlier post, she started on cereal, fruits and veggies a few weeks back. The doctor agreed she was more than ready and said we made a great decision!

Oh and one more thing...this girl gets up on her hands and knees and is determined to crawl...which is unbelievable to me and Todd! It's way to early for my liking but she doesn't let that stop her. She can't quite get everything working at the same time yet, but its only a matter of time! She can already scoot and army crawl to get away from her sister (ha ha!!) or grab that toy that is just out of her reach!

It's cereal time!

Ava is more than ready for solids...everytime we are eating and she is near the table that girl tries to snatch the food right off of your plate or fork. You really have to watch because she is super fast!! As we thought, she LOVED cereal and her fruits and veggies. Daddy loves it too because he now can feed her as well since she's still on the boob juice:)




Apparently Daddy wasn't shoving it in fast enough, because she took it upon herself to take the spoon and shove it in herself!

Ballet & Tap

Katy started ballet and tap class this past week and she loves it!! She adores her teacher, Miss Amy and wishes that she gets to go to class everyday! Here are a few pics posing in her tap and ballet shoes.

Lip Smackin

Ava is starting to teeth and has been slobbering a lot and putting everything in her mouth. In the process, she has figured out how to smack her lips and it cracks me up!! She reminds me of my late Grandpa Bert when he forgot to put his dentures in!

OBX - Part II

Our vacation is coming to a close, as we leave on Sunday. Although we have had an awesome 10 days, which is especially great since I was unsure how Ava would fair to all of the change being so young. But she has proved to be a true beach baby and has loved the sand, ocean and is a real trooper...she really just goes with the flow!


We are out to dinner at Awful Arthurs Oyster Bar (one of favorites) and she is enjoying her strawberry daquiri.

As you can see, Ava was so content at the beach that she slept a majority of the time.


Todd dug holes for the kids to play in...I think he secretly enjoyed it!

OBX - Part I

Our annual trip to Nags Head, North Carolina is here and we are having a blast!! It's had to believe that my first trip down to this very same beach was 27 years ago and I was just about Katy's age. I've been lucky enough to not miss a year since and that was 1983!! I'm just thankful that I now get to share the same experiences with my husband and kids and we are making great memories for them as well. Here is the first installment of our adventures!

I do believe the beach is Katy's new favorite place, we can't seem to keep her off of it unless its time to sleep!
