Snow Day

Well - Katy woke up last Sunday and while Daddy was making us breakfast she decided that she wanted to play in the snow. Even after I explained to her that we had to eat first and she was still in her jammies...she INSISTED on wearing her hat and snow boots. The funny thing is that whenever we are outside she won't keep her hat on and fights with me when I want to put it on. So I let her have her fun and she wore them most of the morning and even ate breakfast with her snow gear on...she is a very silly girl!!

Birthday Princesses...

Grandma & Grandpa Walton have been in town since Christmas Eve and unfortunately went back to Missouri last weekend:( We really enjoyed seeing them whenever we wanted and not having to travel 800 miles!

While they were here, we celebrated Tabi's birthday (which was on January 20th) and Katy's upcoming birthday (February 21st). It was a great party in which Denise cooked Paula Deen's fried chicken (YUM!!) and topped off dinner with birthday cake! Christmas #4 with Grandma & Grandpa Ruiz

Two weekends ago (I know I'm really behind on my blogging!!) we went to Toledo to celebrate Christmas with Todd's Mom and step-Dad (Timio). We had a great time and they got about 5 inches of snow in the 4 hours we were there:) I have a feeling that Katy has the impression that Christmas lasts a month long...she stills talks about Santa Claus and has opening presents down!!


One of her gifts was a 4-wheeler...watch out boys here she comes!!


This was a gift from Tiffany (Todd's older sister) and they live in Colorado!




She loves the camera and loves to see the pictures once they are taken:)

We were able to spend the evening at Todd's aunts house in Upper Arlington which is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect place to ring in the New Year. This house is the place to host a party!! We spent the evening with family and friends and had a GREAT time!!

Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo

Our next adventure were the Christmas lights at the zoo. We went on a weeknight the week before Christmas and it was a good thing. It wasn't crowded, but it was COLD!! We went with Todd's bestfriend Shad and his girlfriend Kelly.

A visit with Santa Clause - 2008

It's been a crazy Christmas for the Walton's...to say the least we've been visiting so much family that Katy still has yet to open her Christmas gifts from Santa Clause that he left at our house!

Here is the beginning of the season with a visit to Santa Clause at the Worthington Mall (the best kept secret in town!). No lines and he is looks just like he should...very authentic! As you will see, Katy wasn't really into this visit and didn't want anything to do with him. I had to sit on his lap to even get these pictures:)

What a BIG girl!

Last Friday, Katy and I ran some errands around town and I decided we should stop for lunch. We had a great time at Noodles & Co and the during the entire lunch I was reminded how much she has grown, even in the last few weeks. She ate her entire meal on her own, which included drinking her milk from the carton with a straw without Mommy holding it for her (so it doesn't spill). Plus, she used a real fork and fed herself with NO help from me. Although this is a great milestone, it was a bit sad that everyday she seems to need me a little less than the day before and is Miss Independent. On the upside, she is such fun to be around and turning into such a great little girl!

Katy's new bestfriend!

For Thanksgiving, we spent the night before at my cousin Angie's house. The two of us were doing the cooking for the big Metzger Thanksgiving on Thursday. Angie has a 2 year old daughter, Anna, and they had a ball together...just check out the video!
