New shades...

Katy loves sunglasses and we have a pair in each vehicle. She really HATES the bright sun in her eyes and when is shines in the window she usually exclaims, "Too bright Mommy, to bright - I need my sunglasses!". So I better have a pair handy at any moment for our little heiness! :)

For some reason, she doesn't mind posing to show off her new shades:)

Utter Chaos!!

I'm a bit behind on my blogging...this week has been a hectic one, but I'm back with a lot to post!!

I'll start off with last Friday (4/3/09), it was a cold, rainy day and my plan was to take Katy to a playground outside, but as usual Mother Nature had other plans so we ended up at Polaris Mall at their indoor play area. This is exactly what every other mother in Columbus had in mind as well, so it was...utter chaos! Although Katy had fun and I enjoyed watching her and all of the other kids play:)

On another note, I was extremely impressed with how most of the kids were very polite and they all played well together even though it was so crowded!!

Why is that all the other kids know how to pose for a picture (I don't even know these kids!!), but my daughter is just to stubborn anymore to look at me when the camera is out?!

Lunch with friends...

On Monday, I took the day off and Katy and I went to my old job at Steinhaus Financial Group and had lunch with 2 of my good friends. It was great to go back and visit my co-workers and nice to catch up with some dear friends.

We had PB&J's in the lunch room and just relaxed and caught up on our lives. As always, Katy was entertaining and amazed the girls on her enormous appetite:)

A weekend full of milestones!

This weekend was a bit to much for me...as I've stated many times before, my little girl is growing up way to fast for my liking!! Katy is an expert climber and for the past month or so has been climbing out of her crib. She started only climbing out when she called me into to her room to let me know she was awake. Then last weekend she took it upon herself to climb out without my supervision, and come wake me up in my room - oh joy!!

It was then that Todd and I decided we were way past time to change her bed into a toddler daybed. The result...she LOVED it!!! She then spent the next several hours showing her bed off to anyone that would see and she kept getting in and out and was all giggles and basically she was thrilled!

It amazes me that she has enough room in this bed to sleep since she insists that she sleeps with a pillow, 3 blankets, and at least 5 stuffed animals and 1 doll.

The following day we were at Grandma and Papa Metzger's house and she wanted to drink out of my glass. I tried to help and the response I got was "No Mommy, I do it!". Reluctantly I let her take my glass and let her try it herself...and of coarse she proved me wrong and drank like a pro. I have a feeling this is going to be a new trend in my life...giving up control and backing off as she does more and more without my help:( Although I will say I am extremely proud of the little girl she is becoming...she is sweet, hilarious, ornery and smart!! I love this girl!!!!!!!

***Breaking News***

We introduced Katy to potty training back in December and she took right to it at first, but then she lost interest Jan/Feb. I have recently gotten back on track and we worked on it over the weekend and she did outstanding! She went #2 on Saturday and #1 today...SUCCESS!! I'll spare you the photos this time...as you can imagine no one (other than Mom & Dad) wants to see the product of her hard work :)

Although her reaction once see saw #2 in her potty when she was done..."Ewww Mommy, that's disgusting!". My sentiment exactly Miss Katy!

So instead, I will just give you this adorable picture of her riding in the car...

Our little reader...

Before bath time, Katy said she wanted to sit on her potty. She went into the bathroom, got herself undressed (which she is really good at now a days!) and this is how Todd found her in my bathroom...

PS. This photo was taken from his phone so the quality isn't great - but apparently she sat there and flipped through this magazine for about 5 minutes before she was done!!

Girls just wanna have fun in Florida!!

My Mom, Katy and I just got back from 5 days in Florida and I am really kicking myself for not staying a full week! We went down to visit Todd's Grandma, who hasnt seen Katy since October. So she was in for a real treat:) It was great getting out and playing outside and re-introducing Katy to the beach, ocean and pool.

To many pictures to post on the blog so double click on the frst photo to take you to my album. Then click on slideshow to view it in its entirety.

Enjoy!!

Where did my baby go?

All the kids at the sitters house have a backpack, so naturally Katy thought she should have one too. So Todd and I searched around for awhile and found a toddler backpack that was the perfect size!! She is very proud of it and calls it her pack-pack. Doesn't she look like its her first day of school? That thought really made me sad...that this day is coming faster than I realized...so I am trying to enjoy her toddler days as much as I can and she will ALWAYS be my baby girl!

What a GREAT weekend!!

What a great weekend to get out and enjoy the weather!! Katy and I were on our way home from running a few errands on Friday and I spotted the playground at our church...so I turned in and we played for well over an hour and had a ball!!

She was posing for me and sayng "CHEESE" and this is what I got...she is silly!

Good thing those are the new shoes we just bought at the mall. I let her wear them home and then we stopped to play - everything thawed and you get lovely Ohio mud!

Disney on Ice

On Saturday we took Katy to see Disney on Ice as her birthday present. I wasn't sure how much she would like the show or if she'd sit still enough to enjoy the performance, but much to our surprise - she LOVED IT!!! During the entire show, she was mesmerized by the colors, skaters and music!! Todd and I both can't wait until we can go next year, because this will definitely be a Walton annual tradition.

Getting ready for Katy's date with Mickey...he has become one of her favorite cartoon characters and loves The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

She is pointing to Mickey and Minnie who skated out onto the ice!!

c
She is wondering where Mickey went...in the show he got kidnapped and The Incredibles come to the rescue.

Intermission and lunch time.

THE END!
